This winter, Domaine la Pierre Blanche boutique hotel in Eygalières contacted me to commission 6 large (130x90cm) oil paintings for their newly decorated rooms.
After working for several months, we thought it would be fun to have an exhibition of the finished works in our rental, la Picholine.
The managers of the hotel were able to choose from 11 oil paintings.
After a fun flurry of reserving paintings using CuriousProvence stickers on the walls, they chose 6 for the hotel, and one for themselves.
The theme for the works was Alpilles landscapes, olive groves and early morning skies, all of which are my favourite subjects to paint. Many of these were started in the outdoors and then finished in the studio. They are a mix of brush and palette. From these detail shots, you can somewhat see how dense in texture these paintings are.
I haven’t been posting many paintings recently as I’ve been contacted privately by buyers coming direct to my studio.
However, I will be having a public solo exhibition in September in our village, Mollégès. The town hall asked me to use their exhibition space next to the library and it’s a fun way to participate in village life.
Creating work will be tight due to the amount of photoshoots I have this summer… Wish me luck! If you’re interested in attending the upcoming exhibition, I will be posting information in August on my Instagram account.
The Final Selection
It’s difficult to do justice to oil paintings with photos, they’re not as alive.. However, I would love to share these with you so here was the final selection of the hotel.
If you’re interested in seeing my work in person you’re welcome to come to my studio here in Provence. Otherwise, I also ship paintings worldwide. As these are large, I take them off the stretchers and send them in a tube. After many trials, this is the best solution.
