Camilli Books & Tea

english bookshop avignonI stumbled across this bookstore and tearoom only a few months ago despite the fact that I had been living 20 minutes away from Avignon for a year. I had always gone to Aix en Provence for my English books.

I’m always trying to find ways to meet new people; this can be tricky for expats. Camille offers a great opportunity for meeting locals.

English Conversation Evenings

On Wednesday and Friday evenings from 5pm-7pm, you can drink a cup of tea, munch on a homemade biscuit, and meet local people who want to learn English. The goal of each of these sessions is for people to be able to practice their English. This is a great icebreaker as people are already open to the fact that your French may not be perfect.

Other Events

Camilli Books & Tea also holds other types of events, especially for the holidays, such as learning how to make paper snowflakes, knitting (all throughout the year), pottery and painting workshops. So next time you’re in Avignon, stop by this little shop for a reminder of home as well as the possibility to make new friends.

Opening Hours
Tuesday- Saturday 12-7pm

Check out the website for more information on upcoming workshops and conversation groups.
